TRAFFIC FORECAST MODELS FOR URBAN JUNCTIONS

ETUDE DE MODELES DE PREVISION DU TRAFIC SUR UN CARREFOUR EN MILIEU URBAIN

This study concerns the definition of a forecast model based not on hypotheses but on experimental data, taking account of real elements of traffic, i.e. its character is space and time; its stationary aspect at a certain time scale. The experimental data are taken from an aerial photograph survey. The algorithms obtained are very simple to draw up as regards calculations or the number of values to be remembered. It should be noted however that they necessitate for the measurement of estimated flow, measurements which must be made at a point where traffic is not affected by the queue.
