CHILD SAFETY: STUDY OF A METHOD OF TEACHING ROAD SAFETY TO CHILDREN

SECURITE DE L'ENFANT: ETUDE D'UNE METHODE D'ENSEIGNEMENX DE LA SECURITE ROUTIERE DESTINEE AUX ENFANTS

The aim of this report is to define a method of teaching road safety to school children below eleven and to describe the experimental approach used. The objective of the approach was to determine the possibility and limit of the method, of the contents to be taught in the five forms of primary schools according to the age of the children taught, while progressing from one form to the next and avoiding repetitions. This method is different from the usual practical teaching insofar as it envisages safety from an overall point of view and that it is linked to the child's experience. (TRRL)
