The Florida Connected and Automated Vehicle Initiative: A Focus on Deployment
This article presents a discussion and overview of the Florida Connected and Automated Vehicle Initiative, which is composed of numerous deployment projects statewide. It emphasizes the various stakeholder collaborations, under the overarching leadership of the Florida Department of Transportation, necessary to deploy and implement the test beds and other initiatives. These stakeholders include Florida Department of Transportation district offices, metropolitan planning organizations, and the University of Florida. The emerging technologies that are specific to each region are enumerated.
