SINGLE POINT MOORING SELECTION. A STATE OF THE ART REVIEW

Single-Point Moorings (SPM) have been under development for around twenty years and are now available in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and design capabilities. Selection criteria should be primarily that of the total cost effectiveness, i.e., procurement, installation and total operating logistics over the field life. To this can be added a measure of production loss costs to allow ranking of the designs by potential costs effectiveness. Against this quantified assessment the impact of SPM vulnerability, develoment status, and contractual aspects on design and performance sensitivity, should be evaluated. Order from BSRA as No. 52,193.
