TESTING OF THE STATE OF COMPACTION OF GRANULAR ROADBASES

CONTROLE VAN DE VERDICHTING VAN STEENFUNDERINGEN

Laboratory density control by the C.M.C. test and the Proctor test of unbound roadbases made of blast furnace slag is discussed. The following procedure is recommended: determination of the density in situ of 10 samples by the C.M.C. test, determination of the one point Proctor density of each sample and calculation of the state of compaction as the ratio between the density in situ and the Proctor density. Tentative requirements for the minimum value of the state of compaction are 101% (mean) and 95% (individual). /TRRL/
