An Olympic Challenge
A regional high speed rail line northwest of Beijing is undergoing construction work in order to serve the venues for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games. The line must tunnel under the Great Wall through a geologically complex region. The project's development is covered here, as well as the challenges the intercity railway faces, and the economic benefits it will reap.
