ON THE TORSIONAL VIBRATIONS OF MARINE DIESEL ENGINES WITH VARIABLE INERTIA

The phenomena of secondary resonance in torsional vibrations of diesel engine crankshafts is studied using an analytical approach. The resonance producing mechanism is explained and the resonant and nonresonant regions of the solution are determined. Moreover, the amplitudes of the nonresonant solution are calculated.
