THE ACTIVATION OF ROAD EMULSIONS WITH SURFACE-ACTIVE AGENTS EXTRACTED FROM RAW PETROLEUM

AKTIVASTSIYA DOROZHNYKH EHMUL'SIJ PAV IZ SYROJ NEFTI

This article describes the activation of road emulsions with surface-active agents which are basic resins from raw petroleum extracted from deposits in Sakhaline. These resins are characterized by the presence of nitrogen and resin components which predetermine the high adhesion properties of resins to solid mineral surfaces. Basic resins have a high concentration of nitrogen, their aspect is that of black powder, their density is approximately equal to 1 and they have a characteristic odour. They are easily dissolved. The activation of bitumen emulsions with basic resins increases the adhesiveness of the binder, facilitates the formation of emulsions and reduces the degree of dispersion of emulsified particles.
