MICHIGAN STATEWIDE TRANSPORTATION MODELING SYSTEM. VOLUME XIII-A. MULTI-MODAL MOBILITY AND ACCESSIBILITY ANALYSIS. STATEWIDE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

This volume documents an analysis procedure which enables one to measure the accessibility of selected groups of the population to travel modes such as rail, bus and air. The process utilizes existing tools created for use with the statewide highway model, adjusting the analysis procedure so as to better deal with and resolve such multimodal transportation issues as improvement of public mobility and goods movement, abandonment of stations or lines, etc. In view of the growing concern for improved public transportation and freight service, such procedures should be of special interest to transportation planners. /Author/
