LONG TERM TESTS ON REINFORCED CONCRETE COLUMNS

LANGZEITVERSUCHE AN STAHLBETONSTUETZEN

Report on tests on 12 slender reinforced concrete columns subject to continuous loading carried out at various ages after imposition of load. Variables were the reinforcement content and the steel quality. After being subjected to the calculated service load continuously for 1,5 to 2 years, the columns were loaded to failure in the subsequent short-term load test. A comparison of these test results with the calculated ultimate loads according to din 1045 showed fairly good agreement. (TRRL)
