Parameter optimisation of engine mounting system based on TRA decoupling

The design of engine mounting system has a great influence on the vibration control of the vehicle. Torque roll axis (TRA) decoupling method is suitable for different kinds of systems, and a thorough decoupling state of the engine can be obtained according to this theory. But TRA decoupling method has not been widely used because of the imperfection of the parameter optimisation method. This paper combines TRA decoupling theory with genetic optimisation algorithm to carry out the decoupling design of engine mounting system. The decoupling process is performed on three typical models including undamped model with fixed base, non-proportionally damped model and model with a compliant base. The proposed method and traditional decoupling method are used to obtain the parameters of one engine mounting system, respectively. After comparing the results, the conclusions are achieved that a better decoupling state of engine vibration can be obtained by the proposed method.
