An Agent-Based Simulation of Air Travel Itinerary Choice
The AirMarkets Simulator™ utilizes an agent-based model of individual air travel passengers to represent and hence explore the commercial air travel system. The ABM is built on a discrete choice random utility model, and simultaneously replicates the behavior of every passenger travelling in every air market in the world. The discrete choice decision model is described in detail, along with how it portrays the dynamics of air travel and air travel pricing. Sample results are offered, including an illustration of the empirical limits of a random market behavior such as air travel.
