RESULTS OF A BUS PRIORITY DEMONSTRATION PROJECT

This paper describes the results of a demonstration project which examined the effects of active bus priority at an urban intersection. The demonstration project, the evaluation methodology, and the surveys conducted are outlined. The effects of priority treatment on the following parameters are presented: travel time changes, energy usage, air pollution emissions, equity, and mode choice. A brief economic assessment is also made. (TRRL)
