Coalescence under pressure: Cox's Creek bridge restoration

The theme of 2013 PWI convention is titled “The Melting Pot” which can be defined as a metaphor for a heterogeneous society becoming more homogeneous, with different elements “melting together”. The successful completion of the project detailed in this paper is a perfect example where the close working and integration of teams, that are normally unrelated, can deliver exceptional results in a short space in time. This paper details teamwork, careful planning and project know-how that rebuilt a severely damaged bridge in an isolated location in three weeks.
