PBN NAS Navigation Strategy 2016
This strategy document discusses how the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and industry are building upon progress made in the development and implementation of performance based navigation (PBN) over the past 12 years. It was developed with consideration for changes in the structure and operation of the National Airspace System (NAS), the availability of technologies and avionics and the relationship of PBN initiatives to other Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) modernization efforts. This document is divided into near-, mid- and far-term objectives over the next 15 years. Contents include: History; Increasing use of PBN procedures; Airport and community outreach; Navigation Service Groups; PBN evolution; Resiliency; and Related efforts.
