The volume is comprised of seven sections. Section 6, Vehicle Dynamics Math Simulation, describes the effect of front/rear weight distribution on dynamic performance. Section 7, Crashworthiness-Weight Tradeoff, describes crashworthy weight variations as a function of collision mode. Section 8, Rear Visibility Tradeoffs, reports studies of see-through headrests and the implications of 'C' post removal. Section 9, Occupant Restraint Tradeoffs, rates competing concepts for occupant protection. Section 10, Engine Effects on Safety Performance, considers V-8, gas turbine and rotary engines. Section 11, Braking Performance Analysis, rates two groups of antiskid and non-antiskid braking systems, including brake proportioning auxiliaries. Section 12, Producibility, describes present and future producibility criteria, and the weight and probable cost increment of a producible, crashworthy ESV autobody.
