Wardair Canada
For decades, Wardair (WD) was a fixture in Canadian aviation, a one-man bush Pilot operation that morphed into a company with a dozen wide-body jets and 4,500 employees. Founder Max Ward adapted to the times, taking leisure passengers on holiday, ferrying cargo, and growing all the time. He avidly advocated deregulation--but, when it came, his company could not survive.
