Experimental demonstration of highway I2V using visible light communications
Visible light communication (VLC), which uses visible light for both illumination and data transmission, is increasingly being considered a viable alternate wireless data transmission technology. In this paper, the authors present an experimental demonstration of a comprehensive and versatile VLC-based Infrastructure-to-vehicle (I2V). They propose an efficient and robust zone detection (ZD) and adaptive decision threshold (ADT) method to alleviate the adverse effects of sunlight and cloud effects.Their results show that the proposed method successfully counters those sunlight and cloud effects.
