Evaluation of Infrastructure Conditions by 3D Model Using Drone
Recently, a fantastic view bird's view has been shown to be easily taken as a movie by a drone. 3D models can be created using the movie which is taken by the drone. The created 3D models of the road are analyzed multilaterally in this study. The purpose of this study is to be able to evaluate road safety because a 3D model is able to express structures on the road, slopes and fillings. At first, two road situations are taken as movies by the drone. One of the two is slopes and fillings on the road. The other is of a bridge above the road. The ways of taking the movie are an overall image of the pickup road and limiting the photographing range. The filmed movies convert to 3D models by agisoft photoscan. Depending on the length of the movie, it can take more than seven hours to create a high quality 3D model. As a result of this study, it has become clear that unusual points and changes out of sight were discovered by the 3D model and which are structures on the road, slopes and fillings. An overall image of the pickup road of the 3D model is compared regularly and can perceive changes. The model, which is limiting a photographing range, can analyze details. Also it is possible that by taking the difference between the current 3D model and the past, it can then be offered as an insight into any signs. In this way, the 3D model is useful to evaluate road safety and it is one of the easy ways to survey and inspect the road.
