TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ROAD FOUNDATIONS OF MECHANICALLY STABILIZED SOIL

NOSECI SLOJECVI PODLOGA ZA PUTEVE OD MEHANICKI STABILIZOVANOG TLA. TEHNICKI USLOVI ZA IZRADU

This standard specifies the construction method for road foundations of mechanically stabilized soil. It includes: definition, general directions, soil characteristics and testing. Soil characteristics include: grain size, uniformity, plasticity, strength, porosity, and frost sensitivity. Mix design specification for mechanical stabilization covers influence of drought and frost, particle size distribution, plasticity index, yield point and yield point in tension, water content, additional material, use of chippings and binders. Details are given of the required mechanization, and for construction of mechanically stabilized soil foundation. Testing includes: various tests - prior to and during construction.
