CATHODIC PROTECTION OF COOLING WATER SYSTEMS

An impressed current system for the cooling water systems of large steam turbine ships uses platinum-titanium anodes in the condenser water box and the pipes entering it, and a set of dissolving iron anodes to provide iron in solution for the condenser tubes. The power unit for the condenser system has the ability to monitor and separately control the various sectors of the system.
