Impact Assessment of the Smart Roadside Initiative (SRI) Prototype

This report summarizes the independent assessment of the effectiveness and lessons learned from roadside motor carrier compliance systems including assessment of the Smart Roadside Initiative (SRI) Prototype and other SRI-like technologies. The locations selected for the assessment were Grass Lake, Michigan; West Friendship, Maryland; Lyon and Simpson, Kentucky; and Mount Airy, North Carolina. The objective of the project was to prepare and conduct a comprehensive independent assessment of SRI-like applications using data from before and after deployments. This document describes in detail the methodology used for the analysis and the results obtained for the systems assessed at each site.
