Innovation Through Collaboration: Pennsylvania State Transportation Innovation Council Accomplishments 2016
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is working to deploy the Pennsylvania State Transportation Innovation Council (STIC) innovations that improve safety on roadways, reduce traffic congestion, accelerate construction, improve project delivery and enhance sustainability. This report includes updates on a few initiatives that support these goals including: High Friction Surface Treatment, Road Diets, Adaptive Signal Control Technology, Traffic Incident Management Training, Accelerated Bridge Construction, Design-Build Traffic Control, e-Construction, Warm Mix Asphalt, Stormwater Management, Pervious Pavement, and Salt and Snow Management. Also included: a spotlight on PennDOT District 2, highlights from Every Day Counts Showcase and STIC Roundtable, 2016 Outreach highlights, and looking ahead to 2017.
