Systems Resilience and Climate Change
This issue contains sixteen papers concerned with systems resilience and climate change. Specific topics addressed in this issue include the following: risk and resilience analysis for highway assets; network resilience in the aftermath of hurricanes; enterprise- and program-level risk management; sociotechnical approaches to transportation system resilience; security resiliency in the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Smart City Challenge; and community-based planning for resilience. Other topics addressed in this issue include: resilience of bridges to extreme events; emergency evacuation by ground and air during a wildfire; group walking patterns and pedestrian evacuation; emergency managers’ hurricane evacuation decisions; and tsunami impacts on passenger and forestry transportation.
