FAA Aerospace Forecast: Fiscal Years 2017-2037
This document starts with a review of U.S. aviation in 2016. It then provides forecasts for U.S. Airlines, General Aviation, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Operations, U.S. Commercial Aircraft Fleet, and Unmanned Aircraft Systems. Forecast highlights include: U.S. carrier passenger growth over the next 20 years to average 1.9 percent per year; system traffic in revenue passenger miles is projected to increase by 2.4 percent a year between 2017 and 2037; the long term outlook for general aviation is stable to optimistic; and operations at FAA and contract towers are forecast to increase 0.8 percent a year over the forecast period.
