Emission from vehicles with Euro 6/VI technology. Results from the measurement programme in EMIROAD 2015

Utslipp fra kjøretøy med Euro 6/VI-teknologi. Resultater fra måleprogrammet i EMIROAD 2015

This report presents results from emission measurements for personal cars and city buses. The findings for city buses confirm earlier results: Emissions causing local pollution, mainly NOx and PM, are low for heavy-duty vehicles with Euro VI-engines.Two personal cars with diesel engines showed low emissions of local pollutants, the emission of NOx, however, is high in most driving situations. Two personal cars with gasoline direct-injection engines showed high emissions of local pollutants for cold starts of the engine in -7 °C. The emissions were low for warm start of the engine, however, for the first time, the measurements also showed high values for NOx from gasoline cars. Additionally, the report presents findings from an international study of emissions from heavy duty vehicles: Concerning the emission of local pollutants, the study shows that the type approval class is more decisive than the fuel itself. Gas engines fueled with natural gas will not result in a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, when compared to diesel engines fueled with fossil diesel.
