The Second Container Technology Conference organised by CARGO SYSTEMS took place in Brighton, UK, on December 6, 7, 8, 1978, and was attended by more than 800 delegates from some 39 countries. The three-day conference covered diverse areas of the container industry from container demand and market development to the more controversial areas of technical advance and the relationship between container owners and the repair industry. Highlights of the conference included an insight into the workings of the world's largest container manufacturer, Tokyu Car. The article presents a summary of the main points of interest raised during the first two days of the conference.
