NPS National Transit Inventory and Performance Report, 2015
This document summarizes key highlights and performance measures relating to the National Park Service (NPS) 2015 National Transit Inventory, by presenting data for NPS transit systems and vehicles nationwide. These highlights and performance measures include ridership, business model, service life, and emissions information, along with business models and funding sources. Key findings include: 127 transit systems operated in 64 of the 413 NPS units; 42.9 million total passenger boardings in 2015; 63% of NPS transit systems operate under concession contracts; and 60% of NPS-owned transit vehicles operate on alternative fuel. This inventory is and will continue to be repeated annually.
