INRIX Global Traffic Scorecard

The INRIX global traffic scorecard analyzes congestion in cities around the world. The 2016 scorecard analyzed 1,064 cities in 38 countries. Key findings for 2016 include that drivers spent an average of 9% of their travel time in traffic with Los Angeles the number one most congested city with an average congestion rate of 12.7%. The U.S. ranked as the first most congested developed country with congestion costing the average driver $1400 in 2016. Tables are presented ranking countries and cities along with data including peak hours spent in congestion, INRIX congestion index, and average congestion rate. Total cost per driver and total cost to the city are listed for the top 25 US, UK, and German cities and the top 10 worst corridors are ranked for US, UK, and Germany. Case studies take a closer look at congestion in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City, London, and Munich.
