DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE MOTORWAY NETWORK OF THE SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF CROATIA FOR THE PERIOD UP TO THE YEAR 2000

PLAN RAZVOJA MREZA AUTO-PUTEVA SR HRVATSKE DO 2000.

The practical approach towards solving the problem of a motorway network in SR Croatia, described in this article, may be useful for all other republics and regions. A review is given of the present state and of measures taken for the fulfilment of the plan. On the basis of the study, which is in eight parts, priorities are given within five year periods. Eighty to a hundred kilometres of motorways and semi-motorways should be built each year, so that when the whole project is completed there would be 2100 kilometres of such roads in Croatia, for which about 168000000 dinars would be needed. It is suggested that payment for this new construction should be made from present and new sources of finance. (TRRL)
