ARE WE ALL AMONG THE BETTER DRIVERS

The following experiment was performed in order to replicate the earlier findings in a situation where subjects were asked to compare themselves not with drivers in general, but with a well defined population whose characteristics were known to the subjects. The subjects were asked questions about safety and skill. The results show that most drivers tend to believe themselves to be more skilful and safer drivers than they actually are. (TRRL)
