The purpose of this analysis is to demonstrate the magnitude of the relationship of motorcycles and highway traffic safety in Utah during 1977. All circumstances which influenced motorcycle safety will be measured and described. Such circumstances include motorcycle crashes, injuries, fatalities, motorcycle usage and public opinion. Profiles of the numerous variables which are characteristic of motorcycles and highway traffic safety will be presented. The above will be done to demonstrate the effect of various motorcycle safety countermeasures, and to identify present problems and thereby assess future needs. (Author)
