PARKING POLICIES AND MULTI-OCCUPANCY VEHICLE UTILIZATION IN THE TWIN CITIES METROPOLITAN AREA

The effect of parking policies on influencing shifts from single-occupancy to multi-occupancy vehicles was investigated. Current parking policies in the Twin Cities area were identified. Parking control mechanisms were analyzed to determine their applicability to objectives of reducing traffic congestion, improving air quality, and shaping urban development. (Author)
