CHEMICAL TANKER CLEANING BY VENTILATION

In principle, chemical tankers can be cleaned by evaporation of the product residue. However, for most products ventilation times are excessively long if usual ventilation procedures are followed. On theoretical basis a formula for estimating required ventilation times is derived that has shown satisfactory agreement with a full scale test, in which 0,20 cum of pentane residue was removed by ventilation. Order from NSFI as No. 18565.
