INVESTIGATION INTO THE USE OF GLUED INDUCTION LOOPS

UNTERSUCHUNG DER VERWENDBARKEIT VON GEKLEBTEN INDUKTIVSCHLEIFEN

Glued induction loops for the short term measurement of traffic flows are capable of lying flat and being stuck to the carriageway so that there is no influence on traffic flow. Their electrical qualities are the same as those installed in a groove in the carriageway surface. The laying of the loop, for which about 15 minutes is required, requires the surface to be dry and as free from dust as possible. In dry weather the loops can be used for several days. In rainy weather the loops should be sealed along their edges with hot run adhesive in order to increase durability. /TRRL/
