DYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF WOVEN SAFETY BELT STRAPS

DYNAMISKA EGENSKAPER HOS VAEVBAND FOER BILBAELTEN

The aim of this investigation is to study the relation between dynamic initial force and failure force of woven safety belt straps. 44 belts were first subjected to dynamic loading from 210 n to 23640 n and then subjected to failure load at which the failure force was measured. The result shows that the failure force does not decrease by previous loading, but that the energy absorbing ability decreases. (TRRL)
