A Statistical Appraisal of Bus Rapid Transit Based on Passengers Satisfaction and Priority ‎Case Study: Isfahan City, Iran

Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) is growing at a galloping rate as it has all the characteristics of an efficient public transportation system. In Iran, BRT schemes are being adopted as a key strategy for alleviation of traffic congestion problems. As a case study, this research examines and appraises the influence of substantive factors on BRT Passengers’ Satisfaction and priority Based on an efficient public transportation system for the future planning, development and improvement of BRT lines. Therefore, this study has evaluated BRT performance in the Isfahan city from passengers' perspectives by questionnaires. Research methods in this paper are descriptive and analytical as far as T tests, factor and other analyses have been done by SPSS software. The Results states that BRT has proposed a favorable service and an appropriate performance. BRT passengers believe that the services have a good overall quality within the city of Isfahan. The indicators obtained within the procedure of factor analysis and defined as accessibility, safety-comfort and reliability have the most priority for passengers respectively.
