2016 Top 10 Roads

Roads & Bridges' Top 10 Roads awards, created in 2000, recognize the top projects in North America. Each year, nominations are submitted to the Roads & Bridges editorial staff, which determines the Top 10 list based on project challenges, impact to region and scope of work. These articles feature Roads & Bridges' annual list of the top 10 winners for 2016, with #1 through #5 having a 1-2 page summary, and #6 through #10 a paragraph each. Projects are included as follows, starting with the highest ranking: (1) the Jane Byrne Interchange in Chicago, Illinois; (2) the La Pata Avenue Gap Connector in San Clemente, California; (3) I-275 from S.R. 60 to Hillsborough River in Tampa, Florida; (4) IH 635/LBJ Managed Lanes in Dallas, Texas; (5) S.R. 826/S.R. 836 Interchange Reconstruction Project in Miami-Dade County, Florida; (6) I-15, "The Point" in Northern Utah County and Draper, Utah; (7) S.R. 250 Eastside Transit & HOV in Bellevue, Washington; (8) Rte. 117 reconstruction in Kouchibouguac National Park, New Brunswick, Canada; (9) I-40 in Albuquerque, New Mexico; and (10) Rollins Road Gateway in Round Lake Beach, Illinois.
