PALLET-SHRINK ENTHUSIASM JUMPS THE OCEAN
Considerations of technical and economic aspects related to introduction of pallet shrink wrapping as one of the most successful methods of shipping goods. Cost-cutting opportunities with this technique are manifold, as discovered by European packagers about five years ago and now being realized in the United States and Canada. Survey of applications in France and West Germany reveals trends, particularly in food industry. Wrapping materials used with polyethylene films taking the lead, but PVC film is also employed. Examples of pallet shrink wrappings of industrial goods applied in various industries.
