Private Mobility, Public Interest: How Public Agencies Can Work with Emerging Mobility Providers
This report outlines case studies and best practices for public agencies to support emerging mobility options such as bikeshare, carshare, on-demand transit, and transportation network companies. It is suggested that transit agencies and municipalities work with mobility providers to provide an effective public transportation network for consumers. Four strategies are outlined for working with emerging mobility providers: partner to reinforce transit's strengths, leverage agency-controlled assets, plan for a streamlined user experience, and be open to new ways of providing useful transit.
