Let's Talk LED Enhanced Signs...It Is a Sign, It Blinks or Flashes and It May Be Intelligent

LED enhanced signs deliver messages that make roads safer and are governed by The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) , which provides requirements for sign retroreflectivity and sign illumination. In this article, the author discusses the use of LED enhanced signs, highlighting LED enhanced stop signs; midblock crossings and roundabout signs; rectangular rapid flash beacons LED crosswalk warning systems; Do Not Enter and wrong way LED enhanced signs; and Curve Warning Systems.
