Great Rail Starts at the Station

High-speed rail projects across the United States reflect the growth in passenger rail use, which has increased from 558 million miles traveled to 670 million miles traveled since August 2000. This article focuses on the importance of rail transport stations and highlights the station operations and growth of three facilities: Union Station in Chicago, Illinois; the Amtrak Station on Cabarrus Street in Raleigh, North Carolina; and Penn Station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
