An Enterprise IT Perspective

Information technology (IT) architecture is one of the core requirements for safe and efficient freight railroad operation. In this article, the author suggests that Enterprise Information Technology Architecture (EITA) represents the IT architecture of the future. He details the two levels of EITA that should be considered by U.S. freight railroads, individually and collectively, and describes EITA’s formal process of engaging many management levels with regards to their specific requirements.
