Multifunctional Test Stand for Researching of Main Operational Characteristics of the Automotive Transmission

This article presents construction of the test stand created at Volgograd State Technical University (VSTU). This multifunctional stand serves for determination of main operational characteristics of cars and truck transmissions. The stand consists of the Dynapack dynamometric stand, the electric motor with a frequency inverter and a tested axle. The Dynapack stand is used as a load device for simulating of road resistance on wheels (or output links, half axles). The electric motor with the frequency inverter serves as the engine for driving of the transmission input shaft. To measure all necessary data, a pack of sensors with specific software is used. The stand allows researching of torsional vibrations, transmission efficiency, loads in elements, etc. Some results of the test performed on this stand for researching of a truck driven axle are presented.
