Feasibility Analysis for the Ecological Sustainability of the Engineering Construction of an Expressway

This research is based on the three different views of the industry, academia and government. The authors' assessment is based on five parameters such as “the utility aspect”, “the economic aspect”, “the adoption principle”, “characteristic of the working-method” and “the environmental condition”. Using representative, detailed item from experts’ interviews and literature reviews, and utilizing fuzzy delphi method (FDM) and fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP), the authors were able to analyze the comprehensive performance with relative weighted index. By applying the Matrix Law of Value, the authors compare the comprehensive performance value of both traditional method and ecological method applied to construct national roadways. The authors find that not only the ecological method of building national roadways is feasible but also more superior.
