Asset Management of Honshu-Shikoku Bridges

Gestion des Ponts de Honshu-Shikoku

The Honshu-Shikoku Bridge Expressway (HSBE) has 17 long-span bridges located over straits where the environment is very harsh. In order to keep these bridges in sound state for more than 200 years, the Honshu-Shikoku Bridge Expressway Company Limited (the company) is conducting maintenance based on the concept of preventive maintenance. This paper describes the concept of asset management and each maintenance element of the HSB.
