Section-by-Section Accident Analysis of German Motorways in 2013 and 2014

ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH: In order to identify stretches of motorway with a high accident frequency, it is necessary to conduct accident analyses of German motorways on a section-by-section basis - including a comparison over time. Section-by-section analyses of accidents form an important basis for the work on traffic safety being carried out by the Federal Government and the Länder, also helping them to fulfil their reporting obligations to the EU regarding TEN-T roads. It is for this reason that the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure has charged the BASt with updating these analyses on an annual basis.
