Vehicle Control Strategies Analysis Based on PID and Fuzzy Logic Control

Two degrees of freedom vehicle dynamic model is established. Based on theories of proportional integral differential (PID) control and fuzzy logic control, controller of vehicle stability is designed by using the method of direct yaw moment control and the different control strategies. By comparing and analyzing control effect of PID control and fuzzy logic control, the result shows as follows: slip angle and yaw rate combined control is better than slip angle and yaw rate controlled individually by comparing control effect; fuzzy logic control has a better robustness and PID control is simple and practical by analyzing control theories. Different control methods can be used in the same control systems according to the need of practical application. The result can improve and enhance passenger car maneuverability and stability control and also can give some reference in a way.
