Research on the Analysis and Comparison of the Transportation Status of a Regional Freeway Based on Toll Collection Data
To acknowledge running status and development trend of regional freeway, statistical data are necessary. This paper first elaborates three transportation indicators of regional highway and explains the mode to compare with that of railway or waterway. Second, taking Fujian province as research object which with a developed freeway network, the authors discuss the regional transport volume, vehicle velocity, traffic composition, overloaded problems, and for-hire transportation for passenger travel based on networked toll collection data and field survey, and the concept and statistical method of provincial vehicles’ freeway transport volume. Finally, goods varieties are analyzed for determining goods composition and goods varieties suitable for transporting on regional freeway compared with railway.
