Evaluative Comparison of Inland Shipping with Multimodal Transports for Seasonal Commodity Supplies through Simulation

In the view of increasing environmental pollution, emissions of CO2 and other harmful gases, the main aim of this article is changing the modal shift of the continental cargo by railway to inland water transport. This article focusses on different modes of transport for main cities in the Netherlands and Germany. For inter-modal transport, the port of Duisburg is the transshipment station for goods, which handles the inter-modal transport. In this article the authors would like to stress an important module that is required for developing inter-modal transport models. The simulation will check the transport and emissions and show the best alternative.
